The program is the most popular BitTorrent client outside of China. It is a small, yet feature-filled package. µTorrent has a large feature set, holds strong performance, remains stable and has support for older hardware and different versions of Windows.
The features which are present in other BitTorrent clients are here in µTorrent, including scheduling, bandwidth prioritization, RSS auto-downloading and compatibility with BitComet-Mainline DHT. µTorrent also supports peer exchange and the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Vuze / Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above and BitComet 0.63 and above).
Unlike many other torrent clients available, the program does not eat away at valuable system resources; in fact, the program typically runs on approx. 6MB of memory. µTorrent is contained within a single executable file, a little over 1 MB.
The program comes with a few file management options, such as labels, for instance, that allow you to set special directories for the files you are grabbing manually or automatically. If you ever cannot find a file, then you can consider searching for it in the dedicated folders.
On the downside, you should know that the program does not allow you to search for torrents from inside the program. Instead, you need to find and download your torrent files from various websites or use the links provided by users you are sharing with.
